Christmas in Europe is nothing short of Magical…and crowded. I had the opportunity to visit some of Europe’s oldest Christmas markets in Cologne, Germany. These quaint Christmas markets are scattered all through out Europe, with a majority in Germany.
When planning on trip to a Christmas Market in Germany there are a few things you should be aware of:
- Expect crowds of people; patience is needed as you will be pushed and bumped every step you take.
- Try the Mulled Wine; usually offered in both white and red wine options. Be careful as the red mulled wine will stain.
- It’s typical that each Christmas market will offer it’s own mug for mulled wine which makes for a great souvenir to take home.
- the earlier in the season you go the less crowded
