This was my second time visiting Rome, but it was the first time my sister and her boyfriend.  I had to make sure they experienced Rome’s history, food, culture and more.

A WEEKEND TRIP TO ROME IN MARCH

Rome wasn’t built in a day, but I had to make sure I showed my sister and her boyfriend this very ancient and modern city in two days. Form the ruins and monuments to eating and aperitifs, I had built out a great Rome Itinerary. Rome was built on 7 hills, get your walking shoes on. Some key takeaways from our trip to Rome:

  • Famous sites get jammed packed with tourists so get to the busy sites first thing in the morning and late in the evening.
  • Sites need to be visited during the day and night.
  • Purchase tickets for the Coliseum, Vatican and more prior to your trip to cut some lines.
  • Do some research on where to eat as there are many un authentic Italian restaurants… go off the beaten path for more reasonable rates.
